Most of us are proud of the fact that we are Indians. There has been a lot of confusion among us in being Indians. Infact there’s been a lot of chaos within ourselves. Where did it go wrong?
In my opinion the reason would be our sheer irresponsibility, insensitivity towards others and the compromises that we’ve been making on our value system. It’s the changing mindset of people that has been our undoing. One has to accept that we are simply copying the west and in the bargain we’re losing our individualities. Losing individuality by trying to imitate someone else is the sure way of take the society, down the drain. We eat pizzas for lunch, talk about living together, and drink colas as we seek to show ourselves as a cool personality. We somehow take pride in speaking English or Hindi. I know a lot of people who don’t know to read or write in their mother tongue. And the worst part is they take pride upon that instead of being ashamed. It doesn’t stop there, they ridicule those who use their regional language.
We had a discussion in our class about a situation of a sales manager who gets excited after being invited to dine together by a sales woman. The discussion was about, what the manager should do? After some initial discussion, our lecturer stepped in, asking us what’s wrong if he takes advantage of the situation. I was in a state of shock. He even managed to give some reasons like the lady has given enough indications. I wanted to contradict but I got too irritated and I didn’t want to be a part of the discussion.
There are some things in life which you should not do…there simply cant be any justifications for some eternal values. Some things in life cannot be debated up on. This is just a case of compromise on the values. We just seem to be content on not following the values and showing little sensitivity towards others. Are we heading in the right direction??? It’s high time for us to introspect!!

nice post.. u were talking abt some eternal truth that cant be questioned.. my view is that, each and every thing, eternal or earthly, can and should be discussed to understand and ascertain them!
Morality, Love and Respect are all inter related in our culture or in any culture... When Morality goes Love changes to Lust, Respect turns to opportunistic acts... Well can we stop it from happening.. Maybe we could stop ourselves, but not sure of others.. The damage has already been done..
Foreign MNCs and Foreign Organisation maybe giveing our economy the much needed boom... But taking away of our way of living and injecting their's...
