First Day @ Work!!

It was a beautiful morning with gentle breeze and everyone in the bus, which took us from STC, must have enjoyed the climate. But I could not enjoy as I was going through various emotions.Manoj was sitting beside me and listening to music.I was wondering why I was mapped to an unit which was not my preference. I also wondered why venkat didnt chose me for SAP along with Manoj. I cursed my bad luck with in.As I got lost in thoughts, Manoj shook me to tell that we need to get down. And both of us got into an auto as vinod left to his off.

In the auto i tried to console myself that its not going to be bad afterall.Soon Manoj got down at satyam city centre.I somehow managed to find the address after some struggle and got out of the auto. As I was crossing the road, i saw 3 other girls who had met with the same fate like me. I knew one among them and in my perception she was not friendly(she's one of my best friend now!!). I just smiled at them and walked inside the office where few other unfortunate guys like me were already waiting . After walking inside the office, I felt as if being in a hospital.I was so frustrated that when we were told to move to another room I almost slammed the door on the face of the girl coming behind. I was dejected by the end of the day.

I have made a few good friends since then but profesionally not getting much opportunity to get something into my head. But, Life goes on...No matter whether you get to do what you want or not!!

Food for Thought!!

I happened to read an article about the past of this great man. It astonished me so much that I could not digest those facts. The person am talking about is the great Periyar, a freedom fighter and the one who got rid of Untouchability in South India.

When Periyar's only kid died due to illness, he could not concentrate on anything. As a result he started making lot of mistakes. Since he was handling his family business, the mistakes hurt his father's finances. Enraged, he first slapped Periyar infront of everyone. Next time his father spat on his face infront of the people who worked for him.

Periyar decided to leave the place forever. He left his hometown and took a train which was heading towards Kasi. He was talking to 4 or 5 people in the train and on reaching Kasi they all headed towards a mutt as they were all hungry. The people in the mutt restricted Periyar from entering their Premises as he was not a Brahmin. While the others were enjoying food in the mutt, Periyar was starving on the streets of Kasi. He could not fight hunger for a long time and soon he yielded to it. And How?

Periyar saw the remains of the food outside the mutt in the dumps(Kuppai thotti in Tamil) and he ate that to satisfy his hunger. The same day he shaved his head, moushtache, beard and becuase of his fair skin he looked like a Brahmin. He went to another mutt and they let him in as he looked like a Brahmin. Soon they found him out and he was thrown away. He somehow managed to comeback to his native as he could not fight off hunger.

It was quite surprising that an icon like Periyar, ate the remains from a dust bin to satiate himself. It was the need for food which made a great person like Periyar do such acts. Think that you are blessed by God to be previlaged to afford 3 meal a day.Do keep in mind that many don't have that previlage.

Dont skip having food!!

Life at Rural Towns

I happened to see this Tamil movie on Television called Veyil albeit only for half an hour or so. The film was so realistic in portraying the rural life, especially childhood. It took me to my childhood days spent at the dry and underdeveloped towns, Pudukottai and Dharmapuri.

I like these two places so much not because of its natural beauty, lush greenery etc...These are places where you'll feel the sun staring you furiously so early and his anger will cease late in the evening only to come back next day with renewed vengeance. Rainfall is almost next to nothing. There were no real entertainment in these towns but for few theatres and temples.I still like these two places the most because of the amicability among the people.

when we went shifted to Pudukottai, I was just 6. I got some good friends there. We use to play hide and seek, Goli(A game played with marble) and Top, which was my favourite game.I use to play in the streets bare footed, with my buddies until my dad comes and drags me to our home.I will not forget the joy i get when dad takes me out to Rajni movies on the first day itself. The screaming of fans when Rajni makes his entry would make you wonder whether the first 10 mins of the movie was mute. The people in our street were so friendly and coming across those kind of people is a not so common these days as I found out in chennai and Hyderabad.

This film made me realise that we like a place not just because of its serenity or its natural beauty. It is the people who you live with, you come across day to day make you like a place.
